Q. Will my insurance cover DVT?
A. Most private insurance companies pay for DVT prevention pumps, however some do not. Our company will check your insurance and obtain any pre-certification that is necessary. Our staff will inform you of any charges that you may incur if your insurance does not cover this equipment.
Q. Does Medicare pay for DVT prevention pumps?
A. Medicare does not pay for DVT prevention pumps. You will be offered a private pay charge if you would like to take advantage of the pump.
Q. How long will I use the DVT prevention pump?
A. Most surgeons prescribe them for anywhere from 14 to 30 days, using for 22 to 23 hours per day.
Q. What if I have a problem with the equipment?
A. If you encounter any problems with your pump, or if you have questions about how to use it, our company has a 24 hour on-call line that may be accessed seven days a week.

Q. Does insurance cover the rental of the machine?
A. Yes. Medicare and most private insurances cover the cost of knee CPM rental.
Q. Who provides the patient training on how to use the machine?
A. One of our certified technicians will bring you the machine, fit it and train on proper use, often prior to surgery.
